Your Bachelor Party Checklist
| USA - Bachelor Party |
Bachelor parties are like military campaigns - they want planning. Here is a short bachelor party checklist to help you plan out your party.
When:
Don't plan immediately before the wedding otherwise the groom will look the worse for wear or even still be in custody if plans have seriously gone awry.
If it is a local party then you can have it a couple of days or the weekend before. If it is a Las Vegas extravaganza then you might need it to be a month or more away.
The bigger the bachelor party, the further ahead you need to plan it so that everybody has it in their diary and can make their travel plans and book flights etc. Key is to ensure that everybody who wants to come, can.
Games
Party Games form a big part of the bachelor party. They engender a sense of kinship, make a lot of laughter and keep stuff rolling. Don't start with total drunk inducing party game as that will finish the party before you have started. Don't forget to check out our drinking games and bachelor party games
Entertainment:
Entertainment is a vexed issue. Does the groom want a stripper or does he hate that sort of thing. Hopefully the best man knows and can plan accordingly. Generally, there are always a few party members who don't want or like the idea of lapdancing or stripping as a matter of morals. How smutty you go is a delicate one.
Not planning anything is a mistake. Just sitting around drinking does not a memorable bachelor party make! Getting out in the day and having some excitement is a great way to kick off and although it costs, a bachelor party group is always full of banter and laughter.
Getting Around & Transportation:
Whether it is a whole bachelor weekend or a one night bachelor party, you need some party transport unless you are all teetotal. Ideally you will have a driver and then everybody can have fun. Relying on cabs and taxis is a dangerous strategy as a drunk group of bachelors is not welcome business for roaming taxis and so come 3 in the morning you can find yourself stranded.
Renting a van will hold 15 people and can be pretty cheap and a rental with driver is more but a local who knows his way around is ideal.
Where You're Going
Pretty obvious, but it's amazing how many bachelor parties go awry as everybody gets lost or fails to meet up at the same place. Make sure there is a plan and everybody knows what it is.
Cruelty
Legendary are the tricks played on grooms at bachelor parties. This is to remind them that they are making a good choice leaving their mates behind and settling down with a member of the fairer sex. Make him squirm, but don't ruin the fun by overdoing it. Getting arrested is a worst scenario for everybody concerned.
What Happens in secret... stays secret
What happens should remain secret. Not a few weddings get canceled after parties go off the rails seriously.
